Midwest Family Lending team members, along with their families present the Huntington’s Disease Society of America, Iowa Chapter with a donation from the MFLCares program at the Ankeny Team Hope Walk on August 31 at Hawkeye Park.
The Huntington’s Disease Society of America. (HDSA) is “the premier nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of everyone affected by Huntington’s disease. From community services and education to advocacy and research, HDSA is the world’s leader in providing help for today and hope for tomorrow for people with Huntington’s disease and their families. It’s mission is:
• To help individuals affected by Huntington’s Disease and their families through support and services
• To educate both the public and health care professionals about Huntington’s Disease
• To promote and support research directed at discovering a treatment and ultimately a cure for Huntington’s disease.
While there is still no cure for HD, today there is more hope than ever that we can beat this disease. Until then, our chapter will strive to provide support and sustenance to our HD families, knowing that while research provides hope for the future, We must provide care for our HD community today. We have become an active community, educating ourselves, sharing information, and advocating for ourselves and our loved ones.”

The 2019 HDSA Celebration of Hope Gala is one way to support this important cause and to opportunity to honor those individuals and families whose contributions during the past year have advanced the cause of the HD community. The event will be held Saturday, Nov. 9 at the Jordan Creek Holiday Inn in West Des Moines. Enjoy an evening featuring fine cuisine, cocktails, live music as well as live and silent auctions while supporting an important mission.
